Southern Alabama freshman dies after shooting by Maddie Ibarra

Early Saturday, an 18  year old freshman at Souther Alabama University as naked and acting crazy outside the campus before he was shot dead by a police officer. According to the school, the campus police officer had hear loud banging noises at the station early in the morning. When he went to investigate,  "he was confronted by a muscular, nude man who was acting erratically." The man who was shot was Gilbert Thomas Collar. He was said to be verbally challenging the officer and asking him to fight. The officer, whose name has not been released pulled out his gun to try and calm down Gilbert but with no success. "When the individual continued to rush toward the officer in a threatening manner and ignored the officer's repeated commands to stop, the officer fired one shot with his police sidearm, which struck the chest of the assailant," the school statement said. "The individual fell to the ground, but he got up once more and continued to challenge the officer further before collapsing and expiring." no one, not even Gilbert's family or friends, know why he would have tried to attack the cop. So far, there are no charged that have been put on the cop.
I don't understand why a collage freshman would  be so crazy and try to attack and officer. He might have been drinking or doing drugs or could have even lost his mind because of the stress of collage. What ever it is, it is horrible for his family that he had to be lost in this way. I hope that the officer feels upset about this to because it wasn't intentional for him to die. Let him rest in peace
