TSA Refuses Woman’s
Request for Private Screening
Addison Norman
Michelle
Denay, a leukemia patient, was on a trip to Hawaii, but she said it went all
wrong. Before going to the airport she called her airlines and asked how to
store her various medical items, like IV bags. She followed their requirements,
but she still wasn’t able to make it through screening peacefully. When going
through screening the machine couldn’t get a reading on her IV bags, and a TSA
agent then forced one open ruining the fluid. Also, an agent made her lift up
her shirt to see feeding tubes she needs to live. Michelle asked for a private
screening that should be given upon request, but she was told no.
This
is appalling that this happened. Michelle was humiliated. She wasn’t given a
private screening. Yes, it’s important that the TSA keep others safe, but they
should always respect one’s rights especially if they feel uncomfortable in the
situation.

I think this is horrible. The lady had the right of her privacy. I think that peoples privacy should be respected.
ReplyDeleteThis is so awful for that woman! Everybody has a right to privacy, and the fact that they didn't give it to her, especially if she has a disease like that, is appalling.
ReplyDeleteIt is awful that they invaded her privacy, especially since she made a specific request for a private screening and wasn't granted it.
