Ships Collide in North Sea Post by: Addison Norman

Ships Collide in North Sea
Post by: Addison Norman

This past Wednesday a container vessel and car carrier ship ran into each other. The ships collided in a busy shipping lane west of Rotterdam, Netherlands. The carrier ship, Baltic Ace, instantly started to sink as the container ship hit because of this around 4 ship members are now dead.  Many were saved from the water and brought to medical care most of them suffering hypothermia and a few slight injuries.  Of the crew members 7 others are missing, but on Thursday the search was called off by the Netherlands Coast Guard, but they did tell other vessels and ships to be conscience and on the look out for other crew members.
This is a tragic event to happen. An event like this could be related to a car crash. Accidents happen, and it can become a very dangerous situation like what happened to Baltic Ace. This reminds me just how important it is to be cautious of our surroundings, and this is especially important on the road as well as on the sea.
