Adoption in Uganda -Hadassah Lai

Uganda is one of the poorest countries in the world, based on agriculture. But based on adoption? It's booming like no other. Many people in Uganda suffer from extreme poverty, but they have one of the world's highest birth rates. This causes a lot of babies and children to be abandoned in streets or orphanages. Many children are in Uganda's orphanages and many are adopted each day. Russia has banned Americans from adopting in their nation, and China's process has become very tedious and long. Uganda provides a safe and easy process to adopt children.

I think this is very good for the kids. I feel so sorry for them for being abandoned by their own parents, but I think it'd be better for them to live in a safe environment that can provide all their needs than living in a dangerous one. The fact that millions of kids are put into safe and loving homes each year just touches my heart.

  1. It really is sad that those kids will never be able to grow up with their parents but it is so good that they are getting nice homes here.
