Seven foreigners have been kidnapped at a construction site located in Nigeria late at night two Saturdays ago. Of the workers that were kidnapped there was one Italian citizen, one Greek citizen, and two Lebanese citizens that we know of. The kidnappers first gunned down a prison, burning two police trucks. The criminals have also done many other horrific things leading up to this one. Since then security forces have caught one of the group's leaders and killed 17 suspected members.
Hassan John wrote this article for CNN on February 18th. Before reading this article I knew that there had been various conflicts in Nigeria, but I wasn't aware of any specifics. This article was written to inform anyone who wanted to be updated on the issue. I think that it's awful that people have been hurt and taken just due to conflicting ideas that could be resolved in another way.
