Why Muhammed Morsi Will Go Down Like Mubarak by Corran Nolan

Muhammed Morsi, Egypt's new President as of seven months ago, seems to be less of a reformist than people thought at that time. His methods: giving the army unprecedented power, limiting and silencing reporters, even using the police to beat the people of Egypt into submission, are all things we've seen before. Except, this behavior characterized the tyrannical Mubarak regime, the very people that Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood fought against until it crumbled seven months ago. Yet, this was the man who refused to wear a bulletproof vest at his swearing-in in Tirhir. What changed? Whatever did, with the regime on its current path, there is no doubt it will end like its predecessors; with revolution.

The objective of this article is to analyse and compare two different leaders of the same country, and to provide the audience with predictions of what will probably happen. My previous knowledge was what I heard on the news- that Morsi started out being everything he promised, then started doing things that limited and oppressed the people. This article is important because it shows what people think of Morsi now compared to what they thought of him when he entered office.
