US deploys 100 troops to neighbour Niger
In mid-January the United States and Niger requested a meeting with each other discussing the status of the US. army and which forces will be needed in Niger in the future. Just recently on friday Barack Obama infromed the congess that the United States sent forces out to Niger to assist French troops in the neighboring Mali. In January the french were sent to Mali to fight the forces of Islamist militants and now are in need of help from the U.S. which will provide intelligence support. I would like to know more about what makes up this Islamist Militant group and why France and the U.S. oppose this militant group. This article didn't give much information on some subjects and very important details on others. The story is very interesting and I can't wait to find out more about whether the United State forces were of any help to Niger and the French.
