Palestine has been trying to be recognized as a state by the UN for a while now. Earlier this week, Palestine was the 194th member of UNESCO. The United States and israel decided to not fund UNESCO since they let palestine in. This made them loose 25 percent of their yearly budget, for letting one member in. The people of Palestine are not happy at the moment. They are being denied UN membership again. one of the biggest reasons why palestine will not get UN membership now is because israel has sided with the United States. Countries also do not want to be responsible for being the reason why the US would stop funding certain UN programs.
