Somali woman who alleged rape sentenced to one year- Jamie Lerman

A Somali Court put a 27-year old woman in prison for accusing the security foreces of raping her. She was sentenced one year, and the journalist who interviewed her was also senteneced a year. The court ruled that she made false accusations during an interview which in turn insulted the governments. According to the rights groups, it was "illegal". After an uncredible, unscientific, and degrading test was taken of the woman, results showed that she was not raped.

I think it was the wrong thing to do to put her in jail. They had no proof that the alleged rape did or did not happen, and the tests they took were not accurate or credited. The rights there aren't really "right" in my opinion, and if further justice action could be taken, it should.

  1. I agree, I do not think this is fair at all and that they should take her out of jail.

  2. I don't think this is fair at all, she should not be put in jail for something she didn't do.

  4. That's so unfair, especially since those tests aren't accurate.
