This weekend, Florida state anthropologist's will begin digging for evidence in the tragic past of Dozier School for boys. The tragedy happened in 1940s-1960s. Students were abused in different ways, physically, sexually, verbally, tormented, and then buried. Nearly 50 students died, according to witnesses who are now senior citizens, reporting that students would disappear and never come back, dozens of them. Nearly 100 students that attended the school, died of the epidemic flu, along with the killing by the KKK. The reform school had poorly kept records, only recording 22 deaths out of dozens that happened. It just now has seems that people are investigating this case, this was supposed to be a school, not a place for punishment. Unmarked graves and dark pasts still lye beneath. Why the police didn't research this in the past? beats me. My heart goes out to all the family's that have lost a child due to this tragedy. May they find peace and justice for these children.
