Previously on the world events blog in one run-on sentence: America's congress is currently voting on weather or not we should launch a missile strike against Syria because they used chemical weapons and Russia really does not want this because they are allies with syria and they are giving Syria Weapons. And now the continuation of the story.
In recent the G20 summit just finished and Syria was brought up constantly. What? you don't what the G20 summit it is now time for the G20 summit and Syria in three parts.
Part 1: What is the G20 summit.
The G20 summit (originally the G8 and then the G12) is designed around getting the 20 governments with the biggest Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The idea is that the nations leaders will sit down at a giant dinner and discuss the current events.
Part 2: More details on Russia.
In my previous article on the topic I talked about the Syrian conflict and Mentioned why Russia is opposed to the U.S. but there are some more details you need to know. During the cold war Russia needed allies and Syria was one of them, when the cold war ended Syria was the only ally they had left. Russia is also in some economic trouble and they need some money so they realized if they sell weapons to syria than they can profit and ensure the Syrian Government is still in favor of them.
Part 3: What happened?
The short answer: Not much.
The long answer: While the dinner was happening the subject of Syria was brought up and the Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin started to take their individual sides and all the other nations were as Vladimir Putin put it, "The entire table was divided in two." This leaves the conflict undecided so again not much was accomplished. My personal fear is that the U.S. and Russia will start another cold war over this, they better think of something to resolve this conflict of interest or drastic action will take place. But what do you think.
