Egypts football season starts this Saturday, but there will not be any fans participating. This is because of last years match. A huge riot broke out, 74 people were killed and 1,000 were injured. The two opposing teams would bash eachother with rocks. The football rivalrie between those two cities is not so extreme anymore, but recent political riots are only making it worse.
Egypt is not doing so good this year. They are definatly not starting the year off to a good start. I hope things get better for them

I hope their team improves!
ReplyDeleteI heard that one year at the beginning of the season, NO fans were there at all! At least there was a turn out.
ReplyDeleteI honestly hope that Egypt can recover from their past. I'm sure switching from a dictatorship to something more free isn't easy, but maybe things'll work out for them. Also, I really do wish that they would stop taking football so seriously. A massacre is really too much.
ReplyDeleteI hope their team gets better! I'm sure it's a hard transition for them.
