Electric zoo shut down by:Sarah Garcia

Summary:

Today there was an Electric Zoo festival in New York City that was canceled after two sudden deaths. There was a 23 year-old male and a 20 year-old female involved. Four others are still hospitalized and critically ill. The Police state that the two people that died were most likely linked to an overdose of a drug called MDMA or Ecstacy. According to the NIDA (National Institute and Drug Abuse), this drug was created in Germany in the early 1900's. An autopsy will be performed on one of the victims this afternoon.

Analysis:

I feel like the improper and illegal use of drugs is becoming a much bigger problem around the world. People can find them everywhere they go. It seems to me that drugs are taking over our lives everyday. This situation that happened today in New York scares me because, pretty soon it will get more out of control and it needs to be resolved soon. Hopefully people will start to realizing that this is a serious problem sooner than later before more deaths occur.

  1. They should just make drugs illegal to use and sell, this is getting too common.

    1. well they are, and sadly that only gives people even more motivation to do them, as a sort of rebellious act or because they suddenly are much more tempting

  2. The use of illegal drugs is really getting crazy. Drugs seem to be glorified in pop culture, causing some teenagers and young adults to think that its a good thing to break the law and do drugs. It seems like no one realizes that drugs can kill anyone, and maybe this event will show people that there are consequences.
