Day of the Dead by Jessica Stegall

On November 1st and 2nd, Mexico and other Latin American countries celebrate "Day of the Dead," a holiday devoted to loved ones who have passed. In Mexico, people clean the bones of they dead relatives and decorate their graves. Guatemalans hold a horse race to remember their loved ones. In Mexico, parades and festivals are held to celebrate the day. Although the holiday seems glum, it is a happy, festive holiday used to remember loved ones who have passed rather than gloat in their death!

  1. This is such a lovely holiday. Honoring the past dead and your loved ones is a really sweet thing to do. I wish that this was more widely celebrated in America.

  2. I like the idea of celebrating lives rather than mourning them!
