A selfie that causes uproar By: Emma Wall

This article discusses the uproar about a selfie that was taken of Miss Israel and Miss Lebanon at the Miss universe pageant.  There is such controversy over this topic because of the issues that are occurring between the two countries.  Miss Lebanon received a lot of hate because of this picture, which caused her to come out and say that she did not want to be apart of the picture and that Miss Israel just butted in to her conversation and took a selfie.

I find this very odd. I do not think that a picture should be that big of a deal.  I believe that Miss Israel was just trying to be friendly and I thought it was very immature of Miss Lebanon to throw her under the bus.

  1. The women should not feel pressured into getting involved with political issues. If Ms. Lebanon was a regular political activist (which after digging into her Twitter, I decided she wasn't, since the most political thing she has said in a while is "Happy Independence Day") I completely would understand her standing up for what she believes in and making a statement. But it seems she only made the backstabbing comment to please her fans and get votes for Miss Universe.

  2. It really just seems like a lot of political uproar from people extremely against any representation of the two countries together while having issues. I agree with Jackson and that it's a way for Miss Lebanon to please her fans.

  3. I agree with Bella and Jackson. Her statement doesn't seem to reflect her personal views, it was just made to get votes. The whole argument is unnecessary.
