Parents/Teachers/Students on Strike Justice Moore

People are going on strike in Chicago because of the bad school conditions. All of the teachers and a lot of the students in the Chicago schools are protesting and are asking for better school systems. Students have said that some of their friends have passed out because there is no air conditioning in the classrooms. There aren't enough text books so students constantly have to share. Teachers sometimes pay for text books and other supplies with their own money. Parents are getting involved too. Some parents are willing to wait until these problems get fixed but others aren't as patient.

  1. If that many teachers have been striking there has to be something wrong with the school system. The problems like no textbooks and no air condionting probably are not the only problems the schools are facing.

    1. Yeah they are also complaining about overcrowded classes where students can't learn as much. As well as they were promised a raise and never got one. That would be frustrating if I was a teacher because I'm being forced to teach many more students at the same pay as before.

  2. This is actually pretty sad, and sounds stressful!! I couldn't imagine going through that. Makes you realize how grateful we are to go to a school that meets our needs!
