Polls Show That Obama and Romney Are Neck and Neck - Lysette Barrera

Recent polls show that Obama and Romney, the two candidates competing for presidency, are very close in voting poll results. Who will win really depends on the  fairly large percentage of the voters are still undecided.

Obama's chances seem favorable, because more people see him as "likable". A past study shows that candidates that are more likable win 70% or more of public elections. Obama also has a much larger percentage of women's votes over Romney. A survey showed that more than 6 in 10 women prefer Obama. He is preferred by a large portion of minority voters as well. Romney has only 27% of hispanic votes, which is even less than McCain had. A new survey shows that Obama has 92% of the African-American votes while Mitt Romney only has 5%.

Romney also has many factors in his favor. Many people like his business skills and believe he can steer this country in another direction. A survey of voters showed that 61% believe that Romney can make the economy better, while only 52% felt the same way about Obama.

According to a survey, currently Romney leads with 47% over Obama's 41% in Florida, and Obama leads over Romney with 8 points in Pennsylvania. These are both very important states for candidatess.

Even though there is much room for change in statistics, it looks like the presidential election will definately be a close call.

  1. While the campaign is very likely going to be neck'n'neck for this term, I would like to state this simple fact:

Romney has basically ALL if not ALL of the GLBTP community's votes against him for the simple fact that if you are not heterosexual, you will be forced to take a sort of "straight therapy" to turn GLBTP people straight.

Romney is also basically stating that if you are raped, you cannot get an abortion; you MUST go through with the birth. Now, before I say anything about this, let me state that I am indeed pro-life. HOWEVER if you are a victim of rape or any non-consensual sexual activity and you DO get pregnant, you should not have to go through with the birth. Imagine, being a fourteen or fifteen year old girl who was raped, and surprise-surprise, you got pregnant. You would be traumatized enough with the fact that you were raped. That factor alone means that you will need therapy and group classes for likely YEARS on end. Now, you likely will NOT want to give birth to this child, correct? Given the circumstance that it is not a child of love at all, it is indeed a child made from an evil deed. The child will not only make you re-live horrible memories and scar you, but if you must keep the child, you will traumatize the child as well, and it will likely not have a very good childhood either.

Just my two cents, but I'd definitely go with Obama, even though Obama has done a few things that I haven't agreed with.

    1. Sadly, that's true. Romney needs to step up his game. I also go for Obama for the fact that he's more liberal. Although everyone blames Obama for not doing anything, you've forgotten that its Congress job to pass laws and such and they're the people who can't agree on one thing.

    2. I completely agree, I am definitely for Obama. I don't think we need a president who will only understand your needs if you are a heterosexual white upper-class male.
