STARBUCKS DOESN'T LIKE THE DISABLED???-ROXIE WALSTON
How did this problem even get noticed?
More than twenty percent of the U.S are disabled yet less than five percent of the Starbucks in the U.d have an automatic door. On August 29,2012, a woman in a wheel chai attempted to pull a door after just receiving her daily order of coffee. As a woman who was noticing got up to go help the trembling lady, she managed to get the door open herself and go on, without thinking of the fact "why isn't there any easier way for me to enter and leave through Starbucks?
What action was taken placed?
Thanks to the author,Shelly White,of the blog "Starbucks' accessibility woes" attention has attracted to the idea of having more automatic doors to compensate to those who are disabled. Thanks to this article written she already has made Starbucks think more about ALL of the customers that walk in and out through the door. Following the same week that she had seen no automatic door, there was a new one built. This remarkable woman had already made a change in the world within a week.
When the article was produced?
This article was Produced August 29,2012 at a local Starbucks, where history and justice was made.
Conclusion:
On an ending note, the realization is this,"restaurants need to think of all their customers conviences before even starting on the construction ". As we know America has progressively grown from equal rights and our civilization has also improved. So why should we not think more about helping the disabled feel more comfortable when going out.
Above is the new star bucks and to the left is the new automatic doors built in.
