Nebraska abolishes death penalty. Sharon Cordon 4th period

Nebraska has taken the decision of abolishing the death penalty, nebraska isnt the only state without death penalty, along with 18 other states and the federal district of washington d.c they all abolished the death penalty.  nebraska has not executed someone since 1997. many lawmakers stated that they supported the death penalty, however they also mentioned that legal obstacles meant that states would be unable to carry out executions in the future. however because of this decision there were many unhappy people that did support it, and threat the senator who did support this. ever since this was abolished ten men have been on the death row. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-32910693
