Elle Holland Current Event #16

On January 21st over a million americans took to the streets in order to protest the recent inauguration and stand up for women's rights. Organized events with thousands of people took place across america all with the message that women's rights are human rights. In Austin and Houstan Texas alone their were about 60 thousand protesters and Washinton had about 597 thousand protesters for this movement. The Protesting was peaceful but definitely made a loud statement.

I am so glad that the women of our country can come together and stand up for their own rights like this. Hopefuly this was a bit of a wake-up call to our new president that he has created such a problem with half of the population he is now "in charge" of.

  1. It truly is amazing strong women are and men just take that for granted sometimes. But hopefully this protest will be a wake up call not just for trump but for all men who are horrible to women.

  3. It is great how women come together to stand up for themselves and women's rights. I hope that our president recognizes these protests and knows that everybody has a voice, that he should put our needs and beliefs before his own racial thoughts.
