8 shot dead in MLKJ Day celebration, Amy Mills

Shots were fired just two hours after the Miami Park MLKJ celebration. Several people were injured through the stampede in order to escape the shooting zone, not including the three adults and five minors shot. Additionally, two minors were grazed by bullets and were released after treatment. Two weapons have been recovered, and two people have been detained for questioning. "The nature of the shooting, we don't have information on that right now," Detective Marjorie Eloi claims. "We don't know how serious the injuries are. There was no gun exchange on our part."

  1. It breaks my heart that this was only a week after the shooting in Fort Lauderdale. These gun conditions need to change, especially since shootings are happening so often and annually. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

  2. Its so sad that as a country we are trying to move and change but there are still so many that have such hatred feelings.

  3. This is sad. I wish people didn't have to harm (let alone kill) others based on what they wanted or felt. It is hard to take in the fact that even though there are so many kind, just and loving people out there in the world, there are also horrible cruel people that don't even have a second thought about killing or harming others. :(

  4. There have been so many stories in the news lately talking about shootings, and it is becoming very concerning. Shootings in the United states are becoming a huge problem, and there need to be more gun control laws to help prevent them.
