Southwest Airlines Malfunction- Melanie Escalante

How did a flight from New Orleans to Orlando end up in Pensacola? When one of the engines of flight 3472 exploded, not all 99 passengers were able to stay calm. Flying parts and smoke was spotted through the window. Mothers and sons were screaming and crying amid the shaking airplane. However, the amazing crew and skillful pilot saved the cabin. The crew memyers helped prevent all hell from breaking loose and assisted passengers with oxygen masks. The pilot called for an emergency landing and flew the passengers to safety at a Pensacola airport. There were no injuries or deaths. The passengers were very grateful for the top quality service during this scary incident. I feel airlines should more carefully inspect an airplane before takeoff. Although the crew/ pilot handled it very well, more safety equipment should be put in place to make passengers feel more prepared. Let's hope nothing like this happens again.

  1. This is very interesting. I am glad the crew and captains were able to save everybody. This just proves how prepared our airplanes are.

  2. Wow this is an interesting and relatable story. Having dealt with the worst turbulence ever in a storm I can only image how scared they felt on the plane. Good job to the pilots.

  3. I DO hope next time(and always) that they double check the airplane before taking off. However, it was very professional that they were able to keep calm and were capable of executing an emergency landing. The passengers on the other hand could've stayed calm, I think that adults should be educated on what to not do during a flight emergency.Ex: Shaking the plane

  6. A lot of Airlines should do double triple checks with different eyes so there could be more opinions and also to keep all board members safe.

  7. Most airlines do have checks , since we had a couple problems with airlines that we should be extra cautious .
