South Korean President Indicted for Bribery-Victoria Gonzalez Current Event

South Korean President Park Geun-hye was officially and legally indicted for abuse of power and bribery. The president had allegedly participated in corruption with companies such as Samsung and Lotte Group. Not only was Park the daughter of a former president of South Korea, but she became the first President of South Korea in 2012. Allegations against her also include using her position to gain donations for companies and foundations she had set up. The scandal and the allegations had gone on for three months, but it was officially announced on April 17, 2017 that she was in fact guilty. She was then impeached by a vote of 234 to 56 votes of the South Korean National Assembly. The search for a new leader continues due to Park's immediate removal.
