Craig Fleming | 4th Six Weeks #2

If you never realized, many leaders in Africa are old. The longest presidencies can last around thirty years, and ages from around seventy to ninety years old. Gabon's former president, Omar Bongo was president for 41 years until 2011 when he passed. This creates a disconnect because of an age gap between the leader and the people. These leaders often cant keep up with times and meeting the expectations of younger people. Usually, younger have more energy and ability to be innovative and help the country move forward. I think this struggle is because of selfish leaders who want to keep the power to themselves no matter how it brings the country down.
