'Spiderman' Art Thief In Paris - Mila Fisher

Vjeran Tomic, a thief nicknamed 'spiderman' was arrested for taking part in one of the most daring art heists in recent years. He admitted to stealing $110 million in paintings; five of them, including a Henri Matisse and a Pablo Picasso. His nickname originated from his tendency to scale walls up to the apartments of the rich Parisians. He and his accomplices Jean-Michel Corvez (accused of ordering the heist), and Yonathan Birn (hid the paintings), were ordered to pay 104m in euros plus additional fines, as well as serve several years in jail. The paintings have not been recovered.
The loss of art is truly a terrible thing. It's history put on canvas and is truly priceless. It's terrible to see it be stolen and and lost in the flow of illegal goods.
