Miles Shickman Current Events

Ever since Donald Trump became president, hate crimes have been on the rise. Most notably, anti-Semitism. A Jewish graveyard was desecrated, physical violence has increased, and Jewish Community Centers have received multiple bomb threats. Donald Trump not only stayed quiet, but he refused to issue any sort of statement regarding this until this week. Even then, however, it was very brief and seemed insincere. This leads me to believe that he did not have strong feelings against the crimes, but to not say anything now would kill him politically. This is yet another example of Trump saying something that he doesn't mean, because he thinks it will be good for his image.
