Edward Negrete: Transgender Rights

Summary: Protests were held, at Stonewall Inn, over the axing of the  Obama-era Federal guidelines that allowed people to use the bathroom of the gender they appealed to. Trump argued that it was the states decision and that the federal government should leave it aloneThe White House insists it intends to protect LGBTQ rights. But some activist believe that those rights are beginning to be depreciated.
Analysis: This article written by Jennifer Lahmers  is another example in how our fight for equality is still going on today. People should be able to be what they want and not be contradicted by the law. Protests like this should be seen more often and also supported.

  1. I agree that people shouldn't be contradicted by the law by a situation like this. The fight for equality will go on for a long time and I wish people could treat others as equals, no matter if they are transgender, ethnicity or race. These reasons don't make someone less of a person.

  2. Trump also thinks the FBI shouldn't investigate his affairs with Russia, and that any news that doesn't agree with him is fake. How does he expect us to believe he'll fight for the LGBTQ community when he hasn't even done anything to prove it?
