Cuban Missle Crisis - Elvira Gamboa

Omar Lopez, a Cuban farmer remembers when a military installation was being built during the Cuban Missle crisis. He was 15 when one day a soldier asked him and his father to leave their farm. In exchange they recieved a bigger farm. Their pigs wandered back to the old farm and when they went to retriev them some Russian scientist had eaten some of them. This is how they found out what was happening to their farm. They didn't know anything about the threat of nuclear war because they didn't own a TV or a radio and not many people lived around them. They did get their old farm back and sometimes Omar shows people remnants of the military base.
