Earthquake in New Zealand by Zoey Crummey

There has been a strong earthquake in New Zealand today. It measured at a magnitude of 6.3 and really shook up the lower part of the North Island, knocking over some buildings and even a giant eagle sculpture depicting a scene from the Hobbit. No casualties have been reported so far, but some damage has been done to roads, train tracks, and other buildings.

I hope everyone is okay from this, earthquakes are so scary to me. I'm glad to hear that there were no immediate casualties, though, and I hope it stays that way. It's good that there was no extensive damage done, and hopefully there will be no tsunami that follows.
