On Thursday afternoon two ships collided in the North Sea. Four people have died from this collision and seven are still missing. The search for those seven people has been called off by the Netherlands Coast Guards. "The search will not be resuming and passing ships have been told to be on the lookout." said the Coast Guards. After the collision on the ships began to immediately sink into the North Sea. Thirteen people were rescued and taken to the nearest hospital.
This article was written by Dominique Van Heerden on Thursday December 6, 2012. This article is very sad because of the tragedy it has caused. I think that this article has a negative impact on readers because of the number of people who have died in this collision and the fact that there are more people are missing makes it even devastating.

This is really sad- especially since they called off the search for the missing people.
ReplyDeleteWhy would they stop the search for the missing people. Some of them might still be alive.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I don't see why the search for the missing people would be called off. These people could be barely alive, and the may have lived if they had been rescued, but now they don't have a likely chance to be rescued.I hope ships passing by each other are more careful, and I hope the families of the dead people are coping okay.
ReplyDeleteThis must be so heart breaking for the families of the missing people. They aren't even trying to search anymore, they've just given up. How did the ships collide in the first place? I'd assume they saw each other.
