Bombs Kill 21 People In Iraq by Madeline Ibarra

In Baghdad, Iraq, six car bombs and three road side explosions killed 21 people and wounded 125 other people. Policed say that this and many attacks like it in the past were because of a group called the Sunnis who strongly oppose Westerners. The U.S. Embassy was in Baghdad at the time of this attack outside of Shiite markets. "Last month, at least 177 Iraqi civilians, soldiers and police officers were killed in attacks, according to figures compiled by Iraq's interior, defense and health ministries."
This death toll does not include deaths caused by attacks in surrounding areas. Attacks in civilians and American groups have been rising recently. The cause for this is though to be because the 10-year anniversary of the U.S. lead invasion in Iraq is coming up in the next month.

I feel terrible for these people. In a way, I feel guilty for the people in Iraq having to hide or be wounded by attacks of extremists. I hope that our two countries can find peace in the near future so less or even no more people have to die because of hate and opposing sides of our two cultures.

  4. That is terrible. I hate how some people had to suffer even if they are completely innocent. I wish our countries could just get along. We are always having conflict with other countries, and it just isn't right. If we want to expect help from other countries in the future, then we need to start helping other countries. I really hope that there will be peace soon because all of these fights just kill so many people without solving the real problem.

  5. That is very sad I know that I would hate having to live life in fear. I think just because the governments are mad at each other it should not affect the innocent citizens of the countries.
