American detained in Libya by Katelyn McLane

An American and Cameroon national were arrested for being on a college campus in Libya at hours when only registered students were allowed there. The university security turned them over to Libyan Army Special Forces. The American and Cameroon said that they were on the al-Hilal basketball team, a big team in Libya, and were getting a tour around the university campus by a student. They were later released.

I think it's good that these men were released, and Libya didn't make too big of a deal about it. They lied, of course, but you've got to do what you've got to do in order to escape from bad situations.

  2. I find it horrible that people can be arrested for something silly like this.
