The BRCK ---Robert Swofford

This little bit of technology called the BRCK was created in Africa, being a super simple thing that is giving people jobs and others, internet. this device is able to connect people to the internet, simple as that. Although this one is much more; this can withstand a black out, dust, and falls off of tables. It's ones, "Super duper durable internet router that will not care what you do to it." It can charge from anything, super simple to use, and, just stands as it is... a thing for people to use, and give jobs in Africa, what more to say?

  1. This could honestly provide information to the people of Africa that need the help to figure out how to do the things they need to do.

  2. Theres something a bit like that in America. It's called FreedomPop, people pay for the device (hotspot/router/phone), and then they get around 400mb free every month for life for a one time fee. But to some, 400mb isn't a lot.

    1. Also, the BRCK is run off a data plan, which can be very expensive in Africa because it needs to contact cellular (phone) towers to get it's data. In that case people would probably need an unlimited plan or AT LEAST 10 gb/month if they plan on using computers with the router. And 10gb/month can be VERY expensive. in america the cheapest unlimited 4G data plan is around $50. In Africa it must be around $75 USD, and thats if there is a cellular carrier that will provide unlimited data in Africa for a good price.

In Africa, I would assume there not many cellular towers.

  3. Wow, This sounds like it could really help out Africa, and make it a more technology friendly country, although I hope the people aren't having to pay for the service/data being used.
