64 year old woman swims from Cuba to US by Becca Hodge
Diana Nyad, a 64 year old woman, became the first person to swim from Cuba to US with out a shark cage. She swam for 53 hours straights only to stop for food and water. She has attempted to do this four times before- once in 1978, two times in 2011 and once in 2012, each she has failed. Diana started her trek early on Saturday in Havana and arrived on the beach in Florida at around 14:00 on Monday. At the beach, Diana was greeted by hundreds of people there to support her. Ms. Nyad is a very inspirational person. She never stopped going after her goal. The fact that a 64 year old woman can cover 110 miles nonstop swimming is amazing. It really shows that you should never stop believing in yourself and to always go after your dreams.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great story, and she's an amazing role model! Her age at the time and how many times she tried without giving up are really motivating.
