Poaching and Eating hopefully Will Stop- Amanda Maceda

In China, many traditional Chinese remedies consist of ingredients that can only be obtained by the killing of endangered species, such as the roasted scales of the pangolin is said to help detoxify the body. Also, some people believe eating these animals is a "luxury" and shows social status. These practices have fueled more poaching recently. "Repeated crackdowns failed to stem such activity and, according to the Xinhua news agency, many buyers of rare animals were walking away unpunished." Now, new measures have been taking to stop these illegal acts. People caught eating animals could face a penalty of 10 years, while people illegally buying them could face 3.
woooo Yay for animal rights and protection! Although, I think the penalties need to be more harsh on buyers, also maybe some scientific discoveries saying whether some of these remedies work or not. That would really help some people stop. Overall, they should just protect these animals more. source:http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-27155441
