The Solomon Islands are very prone to both volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. This Feburary, there was already a 8.0 quake that caused a tsunami that killed several poeple in the santa cruz section of the islands. Now, early this morning, a 7.5 earthquake struck off the coast Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea. "The latest quake was registered at a depth of 20km (12 miles) below the seabed, the US Geological Survey said." There are no reports of damage, death, or even if a tsunami hit. There was also a 5.9 aftershock.
So much disaster in this land. So much distaster in this world. I really hope that no tsunamis occured, but they probably did. For all we know, we might not have heard anything because everything could have been destroyed. Or we just havent recieved anythging. Who knows?
