Elle Holland Current Event #23

A crazy accident at a waterfall in Ghana resulted in the death of at least 18 people. A giant tree fell during a storm, trapping some swimmers at the base of Kintapo waterfalls on sunday afternoon. 14 of the 18 that were killed were the students of a local high school in Ghana. Another 22 individuals are being treated at a local hospital for injuries pertaining to the accident.More emergency teams are working on making the area safe and helping all of those that are still alive and are injured.

If the area isn't for sure safe and stable i don't think it should be allowed for people to swim in it and tour it especially children. I am so sad that these peoples lives ended because of a natural disaster. I can't imagine being happily swimming and then get killed by a tree out of no where.

  1. That's so heartbreaking that environmental situations like that happen. My prayers will be with those who lost some one or the people who will hopefully recover from the accident and get better again.

  2. I agree this is a sad event and people had to die because of this disaster. Not only should this place be sure it is safe for the public again, but also other public places. Although it is unexpected and hard to predict if an event like this will happen again, we ned to be careful and aware.

  3. They shouldn't be allowed to swim their, or at least they should put up signs warning natural disasters and that they should swim at their own risk
