Northeastern Storm - Lauren Rothert

A late winter storm has hit the northeast with loads of snow. There are currently 15 million people with a blizzard threat in their area. Thousands of schools are closed, and over 6,000 flights have been canceled. Over the next few days, south of New York state and Pennsylvania are expected to get 3 inches of snow per hour. New York City has missed the worst of the storm. Massachusetts is also expected to get strong winds and up to 24 inches of snow. Governors issued states of emergency and several travel bans.

I can't believe a winter storm is hitting so late into the season. There are many homes without power, I hope they are not left without it for too long. 28 accidents have been reported, and I hope there have been no deaths due to these accidents. Hopefully everyone stays safe during this storm.

  1. That is really late for a Blizzard. I hope they make a place that is natural disaster proof kind of like basements for tornados. There's already people dying from other causes, this shouldn't worry us like it does.
