Ghana Tree Falls and Kills 20, Amy Mills

On Sunday, March 19th, A large tree crashed into a popular tourist destination of Kintampo Falls, leaving 18 dead at the scene and two deaths at the hospital. Reports say at least 22 injured. Frank Adansi-Bonnah, a survivor (with cuts to the head and a dislocated shoulder, considered a "lucky one"), claims "What I remember was I was struggling with the tree." Frank, who was swimming with his friends, did not know what happened to his friends but was told three other students from his university died in the accident. Matilda Owusu (a 16 year old suffering from spinal damage and a sprained arm from the incident) is needed to be transferred to a larger hospital that can deal with her injuries.

I hope that most if not all of the survivors will recover well and something like this is less tragic.

  1. I hope the survivors are okay. It's sad how events like this can happen out of nowhere and take innocent lives. After an event like this, people are definitely more aware.
