Ceasefire in Homs, Syria has been extended for another 3 days

Since June of 2012, parts of Homs have been besieged. Recently, a ceasefire was called and has now been extended. "I hope this will allow us to evacuate yet more civilians and deliver much needed additional supplies" says Valerie Amos, the U.N. humanitarian chief. More than 800 civilians have left the city since last Friday. However, the ceasefire, put in place by the U.N., has been violated more than once in Homs. U.N. and Red Crescent vehicles were targeted by gunfire and explosives trying to get into the city.
