Mamicho Lubola killed by Crocodile

Summary: Mamicho Lubola, a Kitwe girl age twelve living in Zambia, was killed yesterday (Saturday) around 09:00 hours. Her and her two other sisters had left to go swim in the river behind their house that day. Her younger sister, Mpunda, described how she and her other sister had tried to call to her to get out of the water, and then watched as she was eaten. The girls' mother, Beatrice Muleba, had gone out to visit a relative but had turned back at some point. When she returned, she learned of what happened to Mamicho, and tried to get help from the police, who refused to attend to her because the crocodile had already eaten Mamicho. Police spokesperson Charity Chanda has been given time to gather more details on the subject.
Analysis: This is awful, I wish this could have been prevented somehow. Maybe the mother could have gotten someone to watch the children, not that I'm blaming the mother; it's terrible that this happened to them and authorities should figure out some way to ensure the safety of those who swim in the river from now on.

  1. I'm surprised there wasn't some kind of sign that would have told the girls it wasn't safe to be swimming. This is awful news and my heart goes out to the little girl's family and friends.

  2. this all seems like a horror film or something. The scene opens ups with little girls going outside to play. It all seems normal, except you, the viewer, has that crawling feeling that something bad will happen. Then, BAM! the girl's head is bit off and the river begins to turn into a murderous velvet hue. The camera turns to the young sisters, screaming in agony as the shock seeps in that their sis has died right before thier eyes.
