Jackie Brown - 'Family Guy' Boston Marathon Episode Removed From Websites By Fox Following Conspiracy Theories

Quoted from the Huffington Post:

"In the episode, which originally aired March 17, protagonist Peter Griffin is asked by sports announcer Bob Costas about his performance at the marathon. A flashback shows Peter mowing down runners with his car. "I'll tell ya, Bob, I just got in my car and drove it," Griffin says. "And when there was a guy in my way, I killed him."

Later, Peter befriends a terrorist who, unbeknownst to him, is plotting to blow up a bridge. When Peter dials a cellphone the friend has given him, explosions and screams are heard. On some websites, an edited clip has been circulating that fuses the two scenes, making it seem – incorrectly – as if the explosion was at the marathon. Some commenters have implied that the show "predicted" the bombings."

The Huffington Post also reveals how Seth MacFarlene states that the episode was clearly a hoax, yet he's still having it edited in order for Fox or Hulu to allow it again. I believe it is a hoax, & it is unfair that the episode was posted before the tragedy occurred, & additionally due to the fact that the series of events does not match nor correlate enough to the tragic incident that took place after the episode was first aired.

I could understand the idea of being offended if the episode was posted after, & was poking fun at the horrific bombing that occurred at the Boston Marathon. However, it most certainly isn't. Seth has to get it edited & changed only because Fox & Hulu requires it in order to be aired again.

  1. Wow. Family guy is funny, but that was kind've mean of them. Also, did you know that Seth McFarlene was going to be on a plane used in 9/11, but was late for the flight?
