Bird flu eats up Yum profits in China-Jamie Lerman

Yum Brands have been suffering due to the bird flu. The large fast-food company said that store sales have dropped 20% and is decreasing as the safety and health of the food is questioned. The decrease in sales dragged down net income by 26%, from $458 million in the first quarter of last year to $337 million this year. The government has stopped wild bird sales in order to prevent any more spread of this virus.

This is a very scary thing to be happening. Food that carries disease and viruses is a terrifying thought and it should be taken care of quickly and throughout to make sure it doesn't spread anymore than it already has.
