Lion Air Plane Crashes In the Indian Ocean by Madeline Ibarra

On Saturday, a Lion Air flight destined for Bali International Airport ended up landing about 100 feet out in the Indian Ocean. This flight was carrying about 100 people at the time. Once impacted, there was only one person who was immediately harmed. After everyone's escape, eighteen people were taken to the hospital to be examined for injury. The model of the plane flying, a Boeing 737-800, had only been used since March my the Lion  Mentari Airline company. The company had already been banned from landing in European countries because of safety issues and regulations. Before the accident, the plane had been flown with no problem to multiple destinations. A bystander said that "he described seeing the plane, with a big crack splitting the fuselage in two, off the end of the runway in the Indian Ocean". There were no deaths and miraculously, everyone is safe. This situation compares to the Miracle on the Hudson incident.
It's weird how a plane can just break down out of no where. Maybe there was a hairline crack or something went wrong inside that was not detected before putting the plane through so much work. I'm glad that out of so many people, no one was seriously injured or died. In the future, I hope that things such as this can be avoided, but if not, I'm happy that we have people that know how to work in and handle these situations professionally and safely.

  4. I am also happy that everyone is okay. It is nice to have professional people that are calm under pressure and do not get nervous and start to panic. That just makes things work. It is weird how this happened out of nowhere. Although, if Europe wouldn't allow the plane to land there, then that should have been a hint that maybe the plane needs to be rebuilt. I hope that this was a lesson learned. Hopefully, in the future, we can carefully inspect planes before letting them fly and putting people's lives at stake.

  5. It's pretty amazing and great that no one was killed or seriously harmed. There must have been something wrong if Europe would not allow them to land, so maybe more precautions should have been made. Hopefully they can regulate other Lion Air flights.
