Margaret Thatcher, also known as the "Iron Lady" and the first and only Prime minister of England, died April 8, 2013 of a stroke. She was the longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century. She was 87 when she died. The death was not at all a surprise. In her older years she suffered from multiple strokes and also had a case of dementia. Dementia is a loss of brain function. The disease effects a person's memory, thinking, and behavior. Thatcher died a peaceful death after a stroke.
Many considered her to be the british version of Ronald Reagan. In fact, the two were very close because they believed in a lot of the same things. Although I disagree with her views on most things, I loved the movie about her called "The Iron Lady" with Meryl Streep playing Thatcher!!

I agree, Meryl Streep is the bomb.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that she and Reagan got along so well, and that they look a bit alike as well.
