Navy Deploying Laser Weapon Prototype Near Iran by Tristam Vowell
The US Navy has recently developed a prototype laser air strike weapon capable of burning planes to the ground as shown in testing, and has shipped it to the Iranian Gulf Coast. The weapon will not be opersating until next year but the US government sees an enormous tide turn with this new revolutionary weapon. It is operational in every way even though it is said to be unoperational in bad weather because lasers rely on line-of-sight which rain interupts. Not only will this be a huge developement technology wise, but it will save the 1.4 million dollars that land to air missles cost per shot and won't have to reload. The only other disadvantage to it is that enemy fighters could deflect the laser by having a high reflective body chassis. The prototype costs 34 million to produce, but then the cost is almost holding every enemy it destroys so the long term project will be more effective and save a lot of money. All I can think is, good luck Iran.
