Bus Driver Sentenced to Death- Maddie Ash

A bus driver who killed 9 people and injured 27 was given the death penalty by an Indian court. Santosh Maruti Mane went on a 17 mile, 30 minute rampage during rush hour in the village of Pune last year, driving his bus into vehicles and pedestrians. He was convicted of murder, attempted murder, and damage to property. Nearly 40 vehicles were damaged before the bus was brought to a halt. During the trial, Mane's lawyer pleaded that his client was "mentally imbalanced", but the judge ruled he was of a "sane mind".  The death penalty will have to be ratified by a high court before the sentence can be carried out.
Mane was the one driving the bus that killed 9 and injured 27 last year in Pune.

  3. This sounds like something from a comedy. I feel really sorry for the people who died or were injured; they were the ones who were harmed just because of this man's rampage. I wonder what his motives were.

  4. I wonder if there is factual information as to the mental state of this man when he went on the rampage, if he was actually sane or not

  5. I don't know if it's right to kill a man for something that could've been a complete accident.
