After recent harsh and frightening rhetoric from North Korea's dictator, Pyongyang, Secretary of State John Kerry held a press conference. He firmly declared, "The US will defend and protect ourselves and... the republic of Korea". This statement comes after months of tension between the United States and North Korea. Since North Korea's third nuclear test in February, the whole world has placed a watchful eye on an unstable North Korea. North Korea has broken U.N. sanctions and allegedly reopened a nuclear reactors plant. The U.N., China, and Russia all are concerned about the ongoing tension between the United States, South Korea, and North Korea. I hope Pyongyang will heed the world's warning and avoid a nuclear war. While a nuclear war is a drastic option, it is in everyone's best interest to avoid one at all costs.

ReplyDeleteI agree that countries should keep a careful watch on North Korea. It's definitely not a good sign that North Korea broke U.N. sanctions.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your analysis and really hope that we can avoid a war.
