"Charlotte police shooting: Family says video is unclear" -Ellen Whitehead

Last Tuesday, Keith Lamont Scott may have been innocently killed. The police officers claim that Mr. Scott pointed a gun at them, causing them to shoot him. However, Mr. Scott's family have viewed the surveillance footage and claim that he did not only not have a gun in his hand, but that he never owned a gun. The mayor is still debating wether or not to release the video to the public, but she too is unsure on the scenario. I feel that this story is very concerning because it is important to know whether this man deserved to be killed or he was innocent. I feel that if the police officers had mistaken that they should admit it rather than go through all this trouble, and the family deserves to know. I hope that they can resolve this case because it is important information to know.

  1. I hate when policemen assume stuff and shoot , then get away with it like don't assume things like that

  2. I agree with you, it's not right that police can just assume and shoot and get away with it. Also I think they should release the video out to the public.

  3. I think that police feel like they have the power to do whatever they want because they will get away with it. They kill and say something like ,"he was a threat" or "he was reaching for a gun".
