Jessica Ball Week 5

Current Events: Bagdad Bombings
Today there have been a total of three attacks in Baghdad, killing a total of 8 people, and wounding 25. ISIS took ownership in the most deadly attack of the day, which was a suicide bombing that killed 6 people and wounded at least 18. The bomber had an explosive belt and set it off in the Iskan city area in western Baghdad. Some Shia pilgrims were setting up a tent for the holy month of Muharram when the bomber struck. The attack was targeting Shia militia members.
Every day in the news you see articles about terrorism attacks, usually involving ISIS. It’s just so strange to me how someone’s beliefs can be so strong and intense that they can drive them to commit suicide and take down six other people with them. Religion is usually associated with peace and when I here all of these stories about terrorism it breaks my heart.  I hope that someday terrorism will lose its point to those who believe in it so not so many people will have to die.

  2. I agree, ISIS terrorists are people who need to be stopped. Hopefully, we can start to develop technology to prevent attacks from happening.

  3. It really does need to stop, like you said it endangers other people. It's completely uncalled for and happens time and time again.
